Is Selira AI actually free?

Yes — with a caveat. The chat itself is genuinely free and unlimited. You can talk to any of the 1,000+ companions as much as you want, uncensored, without a message cap or token system. No credit card required. The limitation is on images: you get 2 starter credits for life plus 1 daily credit. That's enough to see the quality, not enough to build a collection. If images matter to you, the $5.99/mo Light plan is where the real experience starts. But for pure conversation? It's free, and I verified that over three straight weeks.

Is Selira AI safe to use?

As safe as this category gets. Communication is encrypted with 256-bit encryption. You don't need a real name — a pseudonym and an email (burner or otherwise) are enough. The platform follows a zero-data-retention policy, meaning they claim not to store your data beyond what's needed for your active account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the dashboard. The company operates out of Singapore. No platform is 100% risk-free, but Selira checks every privacy box I'd want checked.

How do I delete my Selira AI account?

Head to your account settings in the dashboard — there's a clear delete option. Once confirmed, the zero-data-retention policy kicks in and your data goes with the account. No 30-day waiting period nonsense. It's straightforward and I tested it myself with a secondary account.

Does Selira AI work on mobile?

Yes, and it works well. It's entirely browser-based — no app download, no APK, no App Store listing to worry about. The interface is responsive and touch-optimized for both iOS and Android. I used it on a Pixel 8 and an iPad and the experience was smooth on both. If your phone has a browser, Selira runs on it.

What's the difference between the free and paid plans?

Free gets you unlimited uncensored chat, 2 lifetime image credits, 1 daily image credit, basic memory, and access to all 1,000+ companions. No ads. The Light plan ($5.99/mo) unlocks NSFW image generation, gives you 5 images per hour, and enables long-term memory. Basic adds doubled image caps (10/hour) plus 5 videos per hour and enhanced memory retention. Premium pushes video to 10/hour, quadruples memory recall depth, and gives you priority generation speeds. The logical first upgrade is Light — it's where the visual experience opens up.

Can I create my own AI companion on Selira AI?

Absolutely, and it's one of the platform's strongest features. The custom builder lets you choose personality archetypes (tsundere, yandere, kuudere, dandere, dominant, submissive, mysterious, seductive, and more), design appearance, write a backstory, and set behavioral patterns. No coding, no technical knowledge — just sliders, dropdowns, and text fields. I spent about four minutes building a custom companion and she was chatting in-character immediately.

Is there an age restriction on Selira AI?

Yes — strictly 18+. Every visitor sees a global age verification popup on their first visit. If you're located in the UK, Germany, France, Australia, or certain US states, there's an additional regional ID verification step required by local law. It's not optional and you can't bypass it. The platform takes this seriously.

How does the memory system work?

Every message you send gets tagged into categories — personal_info, relationship, goal, preference, emotional — and stored in your companion's memory profile. When relevant context comes up in future conversations, the AI pulls from those tagged memories. In practice, this means she remembers your name, your preferences, emotional moments you've shared, and inside jokes from days or weeks ago. On the Premium plan, recall depth is quadrupled. It's the feature that makes conversations feel like they're going somewhere instead of starting over every time.
